Each bar is a book, sized by how many verses it holds — Psalms towers, Obadiah is a sliver. Chronological puts them in the order their events fall in history; Canonical puts them in the order they appear in an English Bible. Either way, the empty stretch before Matthew is the four hundred silent years.
Each thread is one of God’s promises. Light one and a star appears on every passage it touches — placed where that passage falls inside its book — joined into a constellation across the line. Threads stack: light several, or light them all.
A gold ring marks where a promise arrives in Christ; a broken ring marks what is still to come.
